Car S.O.S Exhibition at British Motor Museum

Today Car S.O.S presenters Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw opened a new exhibition at the British Motor Museum featuring cars from National Geographic’s popular motoring TV show Car S.O.S. The heart-warming car make-over show is now in its 6th series and has brought over 60 cars back from rusty wrecks to their former glory; everything from family classics to hot hatches and elegant sports cars.

The new exhibition features 7 cars that have been rebuilt by the Car S.O.S team including 3 still shining from restoration in the most recent series. On display is a pre-war Austin ‘Tilly’ truck which underwent a sympathetic overhaul, a vibrant yellow Lancia Delta Integrale with a touching back story and a rare AC Aceca sports car along with four others; MGA, Volvo P1800, Aston Martin DB6 and a Ford Capri RS3100.

Graphics and clips from the relevant episodes run alongside each of the cars detailing the many technical dilemmas Tim and Fuzz had to get the cars back to their best. They will also give an insight into some of the personal stories and challenges faced by each of the cars' owners.

Stephen Taylor Woodrow, Series Producer said “The Car S.O.S team are over the moon with the exhibition – we get so many requests from viewers asking where they can see our cars so this really is a perfect opportunity. The fact that the exhibition is at the British Motor Museum makes perfect sense – having been at the venue for two of our reveals – we have built up a good relationship with the team there and knew the cars would look amazing. Speaking on behalf of Tim, Fuzz, the workshop crew and of course the owners who have generously lent their cars, we all know this is one exhibition Car S.O.S. fans will not want to miss!”

Today, the TV show’s presenters were joined by the car’s owners, friends, family and production crew, as well as the Car S.O.S workshop team for a private opening.

The Car S.O.S Exhibition is now open until the end of February 2019 and is included within the Museum entrance fee.
