'Auto Science' at British Motor Museum

Visitors are invited to join in with some ‘cracking’ fun activities this Easter at the British Motor Museum from 8 – 23 April.

From interactive science shows to some ‘egg-tastic’ fun with Shaun the Sheep, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. So don’t miss out - book Museum tickets online today!

Visitors can watch science being brought to life in a 25 minute Sublime Science Show, from Monday 10 – Thursday 13 April & Tuesday 18 – Friday 21 April, at 11am, 12pm, 2pm & 3pm. These shows are full of cool interactive demonstrations and hands on activities where visitors will get the chance to make smoke rings, bubbles and slime! Also on these dates is ‘Technic Challenge’, a drop-in activity (10am to 3pm) where children can get hands-on and design, build and test their own LEGO® Technic machines. They can then race them along the ‘Track’ with the fastest car of the day winning the title ‘Champion Designer’ as well as a small prize.

Also available each day throughout the Easter holidays is the Auto Science ‘Secret Trail’ which visitors can complete to discover the secrets of making cars, and Family Tours with the ‘Mad Scientist’ available every day at 10:45am and 1:30pm.

Easter wouldn’t be Easter without a traditional Easter Egg hunt! Visitors can help Shaun the Sheep and his flock find the eggs hidden around the Museum. For those who like a crafty activity they can have a go at ‘hatching your own car!’. These activities are only available over the Easter Weekend from 14 – 17 April.

Easter visitors can also enter the Museum’s Shaun the Sheep Selfie competition, simply take a selfie in the Museum wearing a Shaun the Sheep headband to be in with a chance of winning Aardman’s brand new Shaun the Sheep DVD, ‘Spoilsport’. This new DVD, on sale from 10 April, offers even more outrageous inventiveness, sheepish shenanigans and panic in the pasture. Don’t miss your appointment for more fun with Shaun the Sheep.

Emma Rawlinson, Life Long Learning Officer for the British Motor Museum stated “With a whole host of family friendly activities including shows, trails and egg hunt, we have plenty on offer this Easter to keep everyone entertained whatever the weather!”

All activities are included in the Museum admission price and no pre-booking is required. During busy periods, however, all activities will be on a timed ticket basis and subject to availability, as places are limited. To avoid disappointment please check on arrival.
