Lincoln Christmas Market: Thursday 5th-Sunday 8th December 2019 A contemporary cathedral city with over 2,000 years of history, Lincoln is the perfect place for a coach visit over the festive period. Take a trip back through time and stroll along the cobbles the in cultural quarter of the city. The medieval square between the impressive Norman castle and magnificent gothic cathedral is the perfect backdrop for the Christmas Market.


Lincoln Christmas Market has developed dramatically since it began with just 11 stalls. The Christmas Market gives visitors and residents a truly festive experience, with a traditional, high quality event for all the family.

Stalls, performers, and festive cheer take over Lincoln's Cathedral Quarter for four days of festive entertainment, shopping, and food and drink.

Visitors to the famous Lincoln Christmas Market will be sure to soak up the festive atmosphere across this large market site, with more than 280 stalls nestled in and around Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Cathedral, and many other venues and streets along the way.

There is something for everyone, from unusual gifts to food and drink from near and far, not to mention a whole host of entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

Enjoy the scents of mulled wine and freshly cooked food, the sounds of entertainment, music and merriment and the sights of this market in this stunning, historic city.

Shops across the city will also stay open late for the duration of the Market, and the Artists' Christmas Village offers goods from local artists and crafters too.

1. Pick up a souvenir

Lincoln Visitor Information Centre sells a wide range of Lincoln and Christmas Market souvenirs as a memento of your trip or a unique Christmas gift.

Also look out for their stall in Lincoln Castle and our online shop for more ideas.

2. Get a selfie from the Big Wheel

Some of the best views of the market up high on the Big Wheel on Westgate, behind Lincoln Castle. Take a ride in the day for spectacular views across the county or at night to see the twinkling lights of the market and Lincoln Cathedral lit up brightly.

3. Try some festive spirit

Sample authentic German glühwein, mulled wine, and spiced cider throughout the market. The glühwein stalls remains from the market’s 1982 origins as an export from Lincoln’s twin city Neustadt an der Weinstraße.

4. Sample local festive foods

You will find a great range of local Lincolnshire produce alongside foods from around the world at the market. And don’t miss the regular Farmers’ Market on lower High Street on the Friday of the Market.
