From beautiful scenery to historic attractions, the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) has plenty to offer groups looking for a great day out.

Having recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, the SVR now welcomes more than 250,000 visitors a year, who come to enjoy exciting heritage steam train journey along 16 miles of the stunning Severn Valley between Bridgnorth, Shropshire and Kidderminster, Worcestershire, stopping at each of the railway’s six beautifully-restored stations en-route. Trains run daily between May and October and during weekends and school holidays from February to November. Christmas services run on selected dates throughout December.

The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley is home to the SVR’s reserve collection of full-size locomotives plus a range of interactive exhibits, including the new exhibition ‘2007 Storm Damage – ten years on’, looking back at the aftermath of the devastating summer storms which caused damage to the SVR in more than 40 separate locations and triggered an unprecedented recovery appeal to get the railway back on track again.

Alternatively, take advantage of the SVR’s jam-packed schedule of events, including our ever-popular 1940s Weekends, Spring and Autumn Steam Galas, Classic Vehicle Day, Steam on the Road, Peep Behind the Scenes, On the Buses and the sell-out Santa Steam Specials.

For a great value fare, groups (of 15 or more) can enjoy a return steam train journey to Highley from Kidderminster, including admission to The Engine House.
