Shakespeare’s Globe is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse first built in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many plays. The Globe Theatre Season runs from April until October. Throughout the year there are performances in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, the new indoor theatre. Open year round, the Exhibition & Tour explores the life of Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote. The guides bring this extraordinary space to life in a half-hour tour. Swan Bar and Restaurant boast stunning river views and serve breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
