Nestling in the South Downs National Park is one of Britain’s finest stately homes, set within a beautiful deer-park landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown.

The magnificent country house is home to world-famous paintings, many by Turner, Van Dyck, Reynolds and Blake, together with ancient and Neo-classical sculpture and intricate woodcarvings by Grinling Gibbons. In contrast to the opulence of the house are the servants’ quarters where life ‘below stairs’ was very different. Additional private rooms open on weekdays by kind permission of Lord and Lady Egremont.

Note: four groups per day at set times.
