The Ashmolean Museum is Britain’s first public museum, founded in 1683. Our collections are incredibly diverse with objects dating from 8000BC to the present day. Group tours can be organised of the museum’s highlights, or of many parts of the collection. These can include treasures of the Italian Renaissance, magnificent Pre-Raphaelite paintings and the finest collection of pre-dynastic Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Packages can include refreshments in our vaulted Cafe or a champagne tea in our rooftop restaurant.
