Located in the Garden of England and set in 28 acres of distinctive Kent countryside, Kent Life offers a unique look back at traditional Kentish life.

Explore our collection of historic buildings, stroll through our gardens, enjoy a tour on our land train, meet our resident Owls and Meerkats at The Kent Owl Academy or take time out to refresh the senses in Dotty’s Tea Room. There are plenty of opportunities to meet a variety of farm animals and Kent Life’s riverside location also means that visitors can plan a boat trip as part of their day out!

Family fun comes in a vast array of options including indoor and outdoor play areas, fun farm rides, paint-a-pot studio, cuddle corner, animal feeding sessions and much more!

Groups are welcomed from their coach, for a personal short talk about the site’s history and an overview of the Kent Life experience. To further enhance the visit, why not consider one of our packages? Choose from Meet the Owls, Rag Rug Making, Meet the Gardener or our special combined offer with Shepherd Neame Brewery – “Hoppers Delight”.

For our younger visitors, award-winning Kent Life provides a hands on, stimulating approach to learning and school visits. With new workshops, educational resources, group discounts and popular historical theme days, there has never been a better time to visit.

To refresh the senses, why not use one of our stunning historic buildings to enjoy a lunch or cream tea? The Wagon Store boasts wooden floors and hop strung beams, our Vintage Village Hall may also be used, ideal for afternoon tea. Alternatively, members of your group may wish to arrange their own refreshments. Dotty’s Tea Room offers a variety of hot and cold lunches or the more traditional cream tea. In the fair weather, you are welcome to use the Garden terrace and soak up the fabulous atmosphere. Special menus and discounts are available for pre-booked groups.

Why not join us to celebrate the special events taking place throughout the year? We have fantastic events every season. From the arrival of our new lambs at Easter, to our Hops ‘n’ Harvest Beer Festival – with a chance to pick your own hops! The year ends with our Bonfire and Firework Spectacular and a chance to step back in time with our WW2 event - “Christmas on the Home Front”.
