The world-famous prehistoric Stone Circle of Stonehenge is the ultimate must-see attraction for all visitors to England. English Heritage has transformed the setting of this World Heritage Site, helping to make your group’s visitor experience truly unforgettable.

STONE CIRCLE AND LANDSCAPE

This extraordinary 4,500-year-old marvel of human endeavour rises from an ancient landscape. Groups can choose to hop off the shuttle to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and approach on foot. If schedules allow, do leave time to explore the many other prehistoric monuments that spread across the countryside.

VISITOR CENTRE & EXHIBITIONS

All under one roof, you’ll find our world-class permanent exhibition which tells the story of Stonehenge using audio-visual experiences and hundreds of archaeological treasures, together with our latest exhibition ‘Feast!’ which uncovers the diet and lifestyle of those who built the monument. Spacious facilities will help your group make the most of their visit.

NEOLITHIC HOUSES

Visit the reconstructed Neolithic houses, furnished with replica Neolithic axes, pottery and other artefacts, to see how the builders of Stonehenge may have lived 4,500 years ago.

ITINERARY IDEA

For a memorable day combine a trip to Stonehenge with a visit to Old Sarum, and take in The Salisbury Museum and Wiltshire Museum nearby.

Delve deeper into Wiltshire’s intriguing history with a visit to the Wessex Gallery of Archaeology at The Salisbury Museum or the spectacular ‘Gold from the Time of Stonehenge’ exhibition at the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes. Special interest groups can also enjoy private lectures and talks at both museums. Please contact them directly to arrange.
