Longleat Food & Drink Fest Success!

The inaugural Food and Drink Festival at Longleat has gone down extremely well with visitors.

The event, which took place over the weekend, included live cooking masterclasses by former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and TV Chef James Martin alongside demonstrations by Emma, Viscountess Weymouth and a cake decorating competition.

The festival also featured dozens of stalls selling a huge range of products visitors can sample everything from local wine and cider, to Wiltshire chillies, Cheddar Gorge cheese and Roskilly ice cream.

Keen cook Viscountess Weymouth, who also hosted a special high tea in the Longleat Orangery, said: “It was a fantastic weekend showcasing a huge range of delicious food and drink.

“I was also fortunate enough to get to watch both Nadiya and James’ live cooking masterclasses first hand.

“They were both great fun and the audiences clearly loved watching them in action. I also learnt a lot of new things which I am looking forward to trying out for myself and the family over the coming weeks,”
she added.

As part of the Festival, Emma and James also had to judge a cake decorating competition on the Sunday.

Visitors were invited to bring along their own baking creations with three entries from both Saturday and Sunday going through to the grand final.
