With over 2,500 amazing animals to discover, as well as live demonstrations and talks featuring sea lions, brown bears and elephants to name but a few, there are loads of reasons to visit ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Watch lions, tigers, hippos and cheetah out and about in their huge outdoor enclosures. And visit our exciting Giraffe Heights exhibit, which brings you face-to-face with our giraffes from a nine foot high viewing platform.

Groups of more than 10 paying visitors receive up to 25% discount on ticket prices purchased online in advance, and up to 15% reduction when purchasing at the gate.

New for 2015!
Spread your wings this spring and flutter by ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s amazing new butterfly house. Launching Easter 2015, the immersive new walkthrough will give visitors the chance to explore the habitats of these beautiful creatures. And that’s not all - as well as this exciting new indoor exhibit; Whipsnade Zoo is set to wow its guests with a brand new visitor centre. A real investment in the Zoo experience, the new centre will offer an improved welcome to the Zoo, the perfect place to start a day of exploring.

Later in 2015 another mammoth project will be ready for its inhabitants; a new, improved home for ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s herd of Asian elephants. Helping to raise awareness of the threats facing wild elephants and supporting projects to protect them, the new elephant barn will provide world-class facilities for the successful breeding group at the Zoo.

Opening Hours:
ZSL London Zoo is open from 10am every day of the year (except Christmas Day) with seasonal closing times.
