Leicestershire Attraction New Explorer Experience

The Great Central Railway is inviting visitors to take a break from the timetable and embark on an unforgettable journey through railway history with its new Explorer Ticket experience, which has just launched. Designed for both first-time guests and returning enthusiasts, the Explorer Ticket has been designed by the railway to provide everything needed for a seamless and engaging day out across the heritage railway’s four historic stations and fleet of vintage locos.

Operating on selected weekends and during holiday periods throughout the year, the Explorer Tickets are £25 per adult, and £5 per child, and ensures a stress-free adventure for families and railway enthusiasts alike. From a carefully planned itinerary to engaging activities for children and immersive storytelling, every aspect of the visit is thoughtfully arranged, allowing visitors to simply enjoy their time while the railway takes care of the details.

“Let the Train Take the Strain”

Guests can begin their journey at either Great Central Railway’s Loughborough Central or Quorn and Woodhouse stations, where they will start their experience with a welcome guide and film and receive a detailed itinerary outlining the day's schedule. Every stop is carefully curated to ensure a well-paced and enriching experience. As passengers travel aboard the beautifully restored fleet of vintage trains, they will uncover fascinating stories from the history of rail travel, including surprising facts. Did you know the Great Central Railway had ambitious plans in the past to connect Britain to France via a Channel Tunnel?

Explorer Ticket Highlights

The Explorer Ticket offers a structured yet flexible experience, making every stop along the railway engaging and educational. Each ticket includes a special Explorer Pack, featuring:
