A grand place for a truly entertaining day out. The impressive central Rotunda – a magnificent showcase commissioned by the 4th Earl of Bristol to house his priceless treasures, collected on tours around Europe in the 18th century – is a marvel.
For 200 years, the eccentric and sometimes infamous Hervey family added to the treasures inside and out, creating the fist and finest Italianate garden in England. After walking in the tranquil parkland, you can experience 1930s domestic service in the newly restored servants’ basement, and share the real stories and memories of former staff who kept this country estate running.
There are excellent facilities in the West Wing, including a shop, restaurant, outdoor café and a plant and garden shop near the car park.
Charges may apply, for more information please contact the property.
