Located in the old county gaol of Downpatrick dating to 1796, the museum’s collections interpret the diverse history of the County. The permanent exhibitions bring to life the archaeology, history and culture of the area, with over 1,100 objects and documents telling the story of 9,000 years of human history in the region.
