If you stand in front of the moveable screen you can imagine a young Will Shakespeare entertaining Sir Thomas Hesketh and his guests in 1581. The drawing room, overlooking the beautiful formal gardens, has a table set for afternoon tea with Lady Hesketh. You can find out about the children in the portrait in the schoolroom, and what life was like for them in the 1920s, then discover the Hesketh family’s lives, loves and fortunes, both here and in America.
