This unique gallery space occupies the charming 17th-century building which once served as the office of Beatrix Potter’s solicitor husband.
We display an annually changing exhibition of rarely seen original Potter artwork from the National Trust collection. This year we celebrate the centenary of Potter’s wedding to William Heelis and the publication of The Tale of Pigling Bland. 1913 was a busy year for Beatrix.
You can see her original ‘Pigling Bland’ artwork and family photographs and discover how she wrote this delightful story while preparing for her wedding. She even included her pet pigs in the tale.
Note: public toilet 300 yards away in main village car park, not National Trust. Groups will need to be split to enter the gallery. National Trust gift shop 50 yards away.
