Take a step back in time into the friendliest old house in Lancashire, a fascinating medieval Hall open for visits all year round.

From Tudor priest holes to a Victorian Kitchen, the Hall has over seven centuries of history to discover.  With turbulent tales of its Catholic inhabitants, accused witches, tortured priests and the haunting of Lady Dorothy (among many other spooky stories), a captivating insight  into life from the early 14th to the 21st Century is all waiting to be discovered.

Award-winning guides range from Janey the witch to King Henry VIII and these are tours of a historic house with a difference.  Janey’s notorious antics will have you in stiches, but watch out gentlemen – she makes sure to save her rotten-toothed smile especially for you.

Visit in winter when log fires warm the historic rooms, or enjoy an afternoon tea on a summer’s day by the fountain in the Italian courtyard.  To eat, choose from the highest quality award winning food in the Billiard Room restaurant… or indulge on sweet treats in the UK’s only “Wafflery”, with home baked waffles covered in ice-cream.

Don’t miss The Bee Centre, where on-site beekeepers make Samlesbury’s own honey, see hives up close (safely behind glass), taste honey fudge and learn all you can about these fascinating creatures.

Why not stay overnight for a unique experience never to be forgotten?  A 28 unit Shepherd’s Hut glamping site can be found nestled amongst ancient woodland in the Hall’s grounds.  Each ultra-modern unit is fully furnished with European oak bunk beds, memory foam mattresses, fluffy white towels, central heating, power shower and loo – the best escape from the outside world.  Spend the evening with your group, gathered around the fire pit and toast marshmallows under the stars.

Samlesbury Hall was saved from demolition in the 1920s and is still run by a private trust to this day.  Any pennies spent at the Hall, from a cream tea to a souvenir in the gift shop, go straight into maintaining the building to keep it open for many years to come.

Samlesbury Hall has a history of making memorable experiences – call them now to find out more!
