Be part of something historic and discover the Ritual Year and Sussex rural history through the seasons, in the heart of the picturesque South Downs. See what rural living was like with over a 1,000 years of history to explore, and over 50 relocated historic houses covering the 40 acre site.
With daily interpretation around our Museum, you can explore around the historic homes from the Saxon to the Edwardian era. Visit our rural trades and crafts, see our working watermill in action and try freshly baked bread from our traditional bakehouse. We also have a varied events programme throughout the year, but we recommended groups book early as these dates are very popular.
Whether you are 5 or 95, there is something for everyone. Open 10am to 5pm BST and 10 to 4pm all other times. Our onsite café is only daily from 9.30am until the Museum closes.
If you are planning a visit to the Museum with a party of 15 or more you can access our discounted group booking rates. Groups can also enjoy bespoke tours of the Museum collection and the award winning Gridshell building (additional fees apply).
