We’re used to dealing with flocks and packs, so we’re looking forward to welcoming your group, however large! Whether you’re a tour or coach operator, special interest group, or you’re planning to visit with friends and family, we have adventures to suit any appetite or itinerary.
Longleat’s prestigious 900 acre estate is home to one of the UK’s leading wildlife attractions, and one of the UK’s best examples of Elizabethan architecture.
Jump in to the wild
Since 1966, Longleat has been home to a menagerie of exotic, majestic and exciting animals; in both the Safari Drive-Through and the Animal Discovery Area. Bring your group to experience the majesty of Longleat’s impressive animals moving freely across hundreds of acres of land; including zebra, giraffe, tigers, rhino, flamingo, cheetahs, and of course Longleat’s famous lions. Vehicles of all sizes are welcome through the Safari and, should you choose, the notorious Monkey Drive-Thru can be avoided using the purpose-built monkey bypass.
Visitors can explore and interact with animals in areas such as the Jungle Kingdom and Animal Adventure. Here you can find the UK’s first meerkat walkthrough enclosure, free-roaming penguins on Penguin Island and feeding opportunities in the rainbow lorikeets’ aviary. There is also a chance for visitors to enjoy hands-on encounters with snakes, tarantulas and other creepy crawlies!
Discover Longleat House
A visit to Longleat wouldn’t be complete without a stroll around the House. Built by Sir John Thynne, Longleat House was substantially completed by 1580 and is the current home to the 7th Marquess of Bath and three generations of the Thynne family. As well as being packed to the rafters with priceless antiques; the abundance of artistry and flair that the House exudes will capture imaginations of those young, and young at heart.
Why not treat your group to an exclusive tour of the House, with its wonderful treasures and heirlooms including early books and manuscripts, magnificent paintings, exquisite Flemish tapestries and opulent interiors.
Food and Drink for your group
Simplified and more accessible catering choices for groups of 12 or more can be arranged in advance of your visit. Longleat are pleased to offer The Cellars café, set in the vaults of Longleat House, as an area for lunch, catering for up to 120 guests. For afternoon tea, The Orangery, set alongside the beautiful Love Labyrinth garden, seats up to 100 with stunning views of Longleat House and the formal gardens. Children are always welcome and menus can be flexed to suit any palette or dietary requirement.
Marvellous Monsters at Longleat
From 8th April – 29th October 2017
This year, Longleat will play host to a swarm of colossal bugs which will be exhibited amongst the spectacular grounds.
The iconic Wiltshire estate will feature these anatomically correct animatronic critters, allowing guests to experience their bizarre and intriguing beauty up close and personal.
Amongst back garden frequenters such as bees, ladybirds and a selection of British butterflies, visitors will be able to come face to face with more exotic and unusual creatures such as the orchid mantis, the puss moth caterpillar and the spine-tingling whip scorpion.
Alongside the immersive trail of creepy crawlies, Longleat will be unveiling new and exciting exhibitions with a strong focus on conservation; offering interactive workshops to reveal the importance of bug populations and demonstrating real opportunities to encourage a thriving insect environment locally.
