Welcome to a different world. This picturesque historic, fishing village, once owned by the Queen of England, offers a wonderful half day out. From Elizabethan days until today, it has been in private ownership, which has helped preserve its original atmosphere. It is very unusual in that it has no cars on its streets; donkeys and sledges being the only form of transport along its cobbled ways. Its flower-strewn cottages "tumble like a waterfall" down a cleft in the 400' cliff to the ancient fishing harbour and 14th century quay.
