A place of power and infl uence for more than 2,000 years, Dinefwr holds an iconic position in Welsh history. The spirits of Welsh princes still inhabit this magical landscape, designed in the 18th century by the visionaries George and Cecil Rice.
There are 323 hectares (800 acres) to explore – three quarters of which is a National Nature Reserve – including a ruined castle, bogland walk, deer-park, woodlands,
hay meadows and streams. Newton House is not your traditional dressed period house, instead the rooms tell the story of Dinefwr across the centuries, giving our visitors an atmospheric and hands-on experience. Note: there are regular tours and talks across the property focusing on aspects of the National Nature Reserve as well as Newton House and the iconic status of Dinefwr in Welsh history since medieval times.
